Whether after a long work day or simply before a night out, Hong Kongers love a good handcrafted cocktail. As a result, Hong Kong contains a few of the world’s most renowned bartenders. Despite the plethora to choose from, here are some of the 5 trendiest bars in the city.

Unlike other bars, Bao Bei incorporates Hong Kong’s heritage when crafting their specialty cocktails. Many of their cocktails include iconic Asian ingredients, elevating their flavors to an unfamiliar yet delightful level. The Mango Pomelo Sago cocktail - inspired from a traditional Hong Kong dessert - inspires the tongue. Literally called Childhood Memory, Bao Bei has created a cocktail that uses Vitasoy Malt, the classic Hong Kong childhood drink. Served in a Vitasoy bottle, customers drink while fondly remembering the past. To enjoy alongside these exotic cocktails, Bao Bei also serves foods such as Pork Belly Bao, Kung Pao Chicken Taco and Mapo Tofu Fries.

Designed to mimic a doctor’s office, Dr. Fern boasts over 200+ types of gin that he pairs with fresh handpicked herbs to help “cure” his patients. The philosophy of Doctor Fern’s Gin Parlour is to prescribe “patients” with a healthy dose of gin and nourishing organic foods. Covered with old fashioned leather furniture, the decor of the parlour parallels the Victorian Era. Apart from specialties Bloom Gin and Blind Tiger Gin, Dr. Fern’s also offers a special doctor’s prescription - handcrafting a drink based on your mood, preferences and tastes. This trendy new gin parlour is perfect for alleviating stress.
