MO Bar's brunch is one of my favorites for its great food and drinks at a great value. Out of all the seasons, I haven' tried their Winter season yet so far and today I finally got to try it.We ordered their Festive brunch. I was glad to try their free flow rose as I wanted a change and the pink color definitely matched the Christmas theme.I tried all 4 Christmas cocktails. I guess due to the cold weather, my favorite was the Christmas Dream. The hot milk with cinnamon and VSOP was warming me up like Christmas. However, I can guess if it was one of our warmer Christmas like past years, I would have loved the Rudolph's Last Wish more.For the food, it remains great as usual. The starter as always is a stunner with its display.My favorite would be the crab tart, packing a lot of flavors despite its small size. The foie gras they used is also great without being too overpowering.My friend had the steak and since I already tried the steak and chicken in past, I decided to try the seabass. The skin was nice and crispy and the fish was cooked just right. They also seemed to have heated up the plate this time to prevent the food from turning cold.We were glad to order the greens as sides as we were quite full.Dessert was another lovely scene and their gingerbread was amazing.Last of all, thank you to my friend who treated my this meal as she passed her exams.  continue reading

The Hainan Chicken from The Mandarin Oriental is one of their signature dishes. The one at MO Bar has also inherited the special recipe. The hot lemongrass rice in this Hainan Chicken set looked browner than the Hainan Chicken rice elsewhere. It’s flavourful and matched well with the traditional Singaporean ginger and lemongrass poached chicken. The chicken was tender as expected and the chopped ginger was less salty, which was great! As I liked the ginger taste to add to the taste of the chicken rather than having the saltiness from that overpowering the chicken. I also loved the soup. It has higher value when you order the lunch sets, as you can select any main course from the menu and pair that up with soup/starter or dessert, very flexible. If you order just the Hainan Chicken, it’s already $298 + 10%. When you make it into a 2-course menu (one starter or soup + one main; or one main + one dessert), it’s $378 + 10%, or for those who have a larger appetite to have a 3-course, it’s $418 + 10%, which is reasonable for a 5-star, long-established hotel in Central. continue reading

朋友,我剛從一場週末早午餐大醉頤指回來,一字記之曰「正」!🍴MOBar的新菜單,賣相靚仔,味道正中我個胃口。我點了安格斯牛肉他他,佢嘅呈現簡直係高貴不貴。每一啖都能嘗到牛肉嘅鮮味,加上自己調味,真係可以話係「入口即溶」。湯水方面,龍蝦濃湯就略嫌輕盈,意想中嘅濃郁喺味道上欠佢一點點,但龍蝦嘅海鮮味還是挑動到味蕾。主菜我走海鮮路線,搞個龍蝦意粉,真係一絕。意粉煙韌得嚟又保存到海鮮嘅鮮甜,個汁潔身自愛得黎惹味,真係有種「開心到飛起」的感覺!😊好東西當然唔少得甜品,焦糖烤布蕾溫暖咗我個心房。個糖皮脆得嚟又唔過分甜膩,跟住底下嘅蛋奶香滑得黎又唔膩口,上桌時候我實眼都光,食落有啲「甜入心扉」。總括而言,這頓早午餐,不單止食物質素過硬,連環境同服務都一流。下次想閒下來,又想食得開心滿足,MOBar準沒錯。🥂 continue reading
